I have completed my 27th year today in ALTINYALDIZ SPACE FRAME, where I stepped in as a newly graduated engineer in 1997 in technical design office. I wanted to take you on a time trip with me to tell you about what is happening in the industry in a very refined and outlined way. What I have experienced, good and bad experiences, what I have learned, what I have been taught, and what my company, which I feel is now literally a part of, has added to me.
September 1997- Meeting Atilla Altınyaldız; I started my business life after the interview with him as of two graduates of Izmir Atatürk High School. Atilla Bey told me to prepare the support work orders for production for the Istanbul Airlines Hangar project as my first job. I didn’t even have the slightest idea what he meant. He sat next to me at my desk every day and taught me the support plates’ welding calculations and the important points of the job. In addition to being an amazing experience, it was exciting as an engineer to receive practical lessons from the doyen of the business in this way. I would like to express my gratitude once again to the late Mr. Atilla, who made me love this job by learning the main lines of work, from the number one name in the sector, in my first year.
November 1998 military service; and Atilla Bey’s insistence that I must come back to Altinyaldız after military service by applying close branding to my mother and father in Izmir. And as a result, I started working again in 1999 and continued to learn the business from where I left off.
Establishing the new Altınyaldız Factory, ordering of new modern CNC machines, production capacity reaching 30.000 m2 closed area per month in the new factory, space system promotion activities in foreign markets, international contract, letter of credit and installation work abroad, these are all received trainings related to. I have gained a great network of friends that I have met with 2-3 foreign trips every month and we do business together. Of course, the fact that the name Altınyaldız opens every door in these relationships has helped me in our success. I think that I have played an important role in providing foreign exchange entry to our country by promoting the space system all over the world. By designing and manufacturing the first space system for Oman-Ministry of Youth & Sports in sports halls only in Oman, I have had a part in the construction of 143 sports halls for both Altınyaldız and other space system companies in 15 years.
With working on the first cement warehouse project in Çanakkale, flares were lit for 18 other new space system storage halls, where Altınyaldız will design, manufacture and assemble the space system later with a center height of 55 meters in the largest internal volume crusher-grinder hall with a diameter of 135 meters. With this breakthrough, we realized the installation with special apparatuses that no company in the sector would dare by rewriting the book of working at a height. We have both offered an economical solution in the cement sector and strengthened the perception that space frame systems can pass through large spans without columns.
in 2018, with Qatar – Salwa Dahab Amusement park, we achieved a great success in a project that attracted attention with its double-storey and amorphous structure corresponding to about 60,000 m2 by correcting a space system whose design was made incorrectly by an Europen Company. This space system project became a springboard for our company. The doors of projects with similar difficulties in Middle Eastern countries were opened to ALTINYALDIZ SPACE FRAME.
Is it always a success story; of course not. Unfortunately, life does not go straight like this. We have maintained our manufacturing standards and quality even in competitive and difficult market conditions caused by the economic recession in our country. I would like to write once again about the following topics that are standard in the production of Altinyaldiz:
– While competing companies are using 1.75 mm threaded bolts while we are using thread bolts which have 1.5mm threads; our company uses special manufacturing bolts with higher tensile capacity.
– All our pipe and purlin profiles are immersed in 10 chemical baths and cleaned from dust, dirt and rust inside and out. The last bath is the phospate bath which cover all inside and outside surfaces of the steel profiles with 4-5 microns thickness. Then it is painted with electrostatic polyester powder coating in our powder coating facility.
-The insides of all pipes are painted with a special apparatus with a double-component acrylic wet paint.
– Mazak brand CNCs are used in all node manufacturing. In these machines, the deviation angle at the node holes is zero. These CNC machines are only used by Altinyaldiz in production of nodes.
